2009 Ted Hargreaves Memorial Cup
Thursday, July 30, 2009

Game one (1) of the 2009 Ted Hargreaves Memorial Cup will get underway tonight at 7:00 pm in Nanaimo, BC at the Nanaimo Ice Centre. Team Leafs will take on Team Canucks in the best of three (3) series. The annual event takes place at the Male Under 17 Provincial Development Camp.

The second game will be played on Friday with puck drop at 2:45 pm and the third and final game will be played on Saturday, July 30 at 11:15 am. Both games will be played at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.

“The goal of the camp is to get better day by day. The 3 games at the end of the camp is important as an evaluation tool and I expect these to be really competitive games,” said Team Pacific Head Coach Mike Dyck. “It will be a difficult job short listing 21 players and we are ready to make tough decisions.”

The BC Hockey Male High Performance Evaluators will narrow the 51 players to 21 players.   The players selected will be monitored and evaluated throughout the first half of the season. The final 11 to represent BC will be selected in November, forming one (1) half of Team Pacific. The other half will be comprised of the top 11 players from Alberta.

Team Pacific will compete at the 2010 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge in Timmons, Ontario from December 29, 2009 to January 4, 2010.
