Female Midget AAA Player of the Month - December
BC Hockey announced today that Breeanna Mussell, a forward for the Okanagan Rockets has been selected as the Female Midget AAA player of the month for December. Mussell had a great month finishing with five (5) goals and no penalty minutes. Her leadership on the team is a reason why the Okanagan Rockets currently sit second in league standings.

Team Pacific Defeats Russia in a Thriller
Team Pacific took to the ice for their first preliminary game at the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge last night when they took on Team Russia in Port Alberni at the Multiplex. The team was looking to respond after a disappointing 11-0 loss to Team USA in their only exhibition game of the tournament on Sunday night. 2011 Canada Winter Games Staff Applications
BC Hockey is now accepting applications for key positions for the 2011 Canada Winter Games in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Staff selection is an integral component of a three (3) year preparatory period which will see a development of the team into BC’s Integrated Sport System. The timeline is in part, set by the Sport and Recreation Branch of the BC Government’s Ministry of Healthy Living and Sport.

3 BC Players Selected to National Junior Team
Hockey Canada announced today the 22 players that will make up Canada’s National Junior Team, which included three (3) BC-born players. BC’s Colton Teubert, Jamie Benn and Brett Sonne were selected by the Hockey Canada evaluation staff Monday morning. Team Canada will play its first game of the 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship on December 26 versus the Czech Republic.
