The 2012 Bantam Tier 2 BC Hockey Championship could not have had a more thrilling final between two hardworking, skilled and evenly matched teams. This game was scoreless until the mid point of the third period when BWC's Alexander Rasovic (assist to Jake Kryski and Devan Purhar) scored to put them up by one. At 5:43 of the third, Campbell River defenseman Joe Gage made a spralling play to keep the puck inside the offensive zone allowing Grady McInnes (assist to Travis Goodwin and Joe Gage) to put one past the BWC keeper forcing overtime. Just 33 seconds into the overtime period, Josh Coblenz (assist to Joe Gage) scored to win the Championship. This was a low scoring game and the goaltending by Nicholas Kirchner (Campbell River) and Sheldon Stanley (BWC) was just outstanding. Congratulations to both teams for the most exciting game to watch.
