The BC Winter Games take place every second season at the end of February (2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, and 2014).
For male hockey players, 18 athletes will be selected from each male Under 16 Zone Camp to represent their Zone at the BC Winter Games. As such, each Zone Team will compete for Gold at the BC Winter Games against the best players in their age division from across British Columbia.

Zone 3 - Fraser Valley
Zone 4 - Fraser River-Delta
Zone 5 - Vancouver-Squamish
Zone 6 - Vancouver Island-Central Coast
Zone 7 - North West
Zone 8 - Cariboo-North East
For female hockey players, the BC Winter Games is the talent identification point for aspiring under 18 provincial team players, along with the BC Hockey Female U18 Cup tournament in non-games years. Players are identified at the BC Winter Games for possible inclusion in the Canada Winter Games.
The BC Winter Games are also an excellent place for colleges and universities to view the best male and female players in BC.
