High Performance - External Sports Credits
The Ministry of Tourism, Sport and the Arts – Sport Branch through the
External Sport Credentials Program (ESCP)
has made it possible for high school students to receive graduation credits for external athlete, coach and official courses. These external courses must be approved by the Ministry of Educations.
APPLICATION PROCESS
1. Applicant completes the form and mails or faxes to the BC Hockey Office, along with verification of practical experience if applying as a coach or official; see below.
2. BC Hockey verifies eligibility.
3. BC Hockey mails or faxes response direct to school contact.

Player Eligibility Guidelines
Grade 10:
U18 Zone Teams - Female
U17 HP Zone Camp Pool - Male
U16 HP Zone Teams – Male
Midget AAA Program – Female
Major Midget Program - Male
Junior B Program – Male
U16 HP Provincial Camp Pool - Male
Grade 11:
Senior AAA Program - Female
U18 Provincial Camp Pool - Female
U17 HP Provincial Camp Pool - Male
Junior A Program - Male
Major Junior Program - Male
Grade 12:
U18 Team BC - Female
Senior Team BC - Female
National Pool/Team - Female
U17 HP Team BC and Team Pacific - Male
National Pool/Team - Male
Officials Eligibility Guidelines
Grade 11:
Level II
*50 hrs of practical experience
Grade 12:
Level III
*100 hrs of practical experience
* Students must supply verification of practical experience signed by local Referee in Chief or District Referee Committee Member.
Coach Eligibility Guidelines
Grade 11:
Level I NCCP Theory, First Aid Certification
* 75 hours of coaching
Grade 12:
Level I NCCP certification (Theory, Technical, Practical), First Aid and
Athletic Taping Certification
* 150 hours of coaching
* Student must supply verification of practical experience signed by an NCCP certified coach.
