BC Hockey announced May 16, 2012 the rosters and schedule for the Female Under 18 Provincial Camp that will be held in Salmon Arm, BC from May 17-21, 2012. The athletes were selected from the 2012 Female U18 BC Cup, which was held in Invermere, BC at the end of April.
The Provincial Camp is a five (5) day camp run by the Team BC staff, provincial instructors and experts in the areas of strength and conditioning, nutrition, and other sport science principals. Throughout the camp players are evaluated on their play, their fitness/strength, their attitude, and their perceived contribution to a winning team. Selected players will advance to the Team BC Summer Strength and Conditioning Camp that will be held in July.
The 2012 National Women’s Under 18 Championship will be held in Dawson Creek, BC from November 7-11, 2012.
The BC Hockey U18 level is the final step in the BC Hockey Female High Performance program, and the athletes in attendance at the camp represent the best BC has to offer in that age group. Many have progressed through the Female U16 program where they were introduced to training techniques and expectations that they have carried forward to the U18 level.
BC Hockey’s Female High Performance Program was established to identify and train athletes and team personnel for possible participation at Provincial, National and International events.
