The Female U14 Program of Excellence (POE) is the product of the Female Hockey Development model and is considered developmental only, where no teams will be selected.  The purpose of the program is to introduce eligible athletes to high performance hockey focusing on both on and off ice aspects of the game.  The athletes will be exposed to sport science principles in the areas of nutrition, mental training and physical preparation.

Based on evaluations at the U16 Zone Camps, selected players will be invited to the Female U16 Identification Camp, a jamboree-style tournament focused on skill development, player assessment and education.  The Identification Camp will be held  April 11 – 15, 2018 at the Shaw Centre in Salmon Arm, BC, home of the BC Hockey Regional Centre-Okanagan.

BC Hockey’s Female POE was established to identify and train athletes and team personnel for possible participation at Provincial, National and International events.  The U16 program is particularly important, as it is the first stage in the Female POE where player evaluation and team selection occurs.
