The BC Hockey Male POE was introduced in 1980 with the mandate to systematically identify and train the branch’s elite-level players for high performance hockey competitions. The overall objective of the program is to increase the chances of athletes from BC and the Yukon to compete provincially, regionally, nationally and internationally with the ultimate goal being selected to Hockey Canada’s National Junior or National Senior Team.

The BC Hockey Male POE exposes players, coaches and officials to short term competition.  Through player development, identification, inclusion, information translation and progression, athletes are prepared for the next stage.  The BC Hockey Male POE acts as a precursor to the Hockey Canada POE, which is used to identify and train players and team personnel for regional and national teams.

For more information about BC Hockey and the Male POE, please visit the BC Hockey’s POE web page, or email highperformance@bchockey.net or follow along through social media at www.facebook.com/BCHockeySource, www.twitter.com/BCHockey_Source, www.youtube.com/BCHockeySource or www.instagram.com/BCHockeySource
