BC Hockey Officials Assigned to World Under-17 Hockey Challenge

Three (3) BC Hockey officials have been assigned to officiate at the 2018 World U17 Hockey Challenge in Quispamsis and Saint John, New Brunswick on November 3-10, 2018.

The officials selected are:

Trevor Beaton

Linesman

North Delta, BC

Level IV

Brett Mackey

Linesman

Surrey, BC

Level IV

Trevor Nolan

Referee

Port Moody, BC

Level V

 
Beaton began officiating in North Delta, BC. He is currently a Hockey Canada Level IV (4) official and is a linesman in the Western Hockey League (WHL) and a referee in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) and the Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL). He was an official at the 2017 TELUS Cup in Prince George, BC and was a player in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) and the PJHL.

Mackey, from Surrey, BC began officiating in 2009 and is a linesman in the WHL, BCHL and USports. He previously officiated in the PJHL and the Major Midget League (MML). He has officiated in several events including the 2018 Hlinka-Gretzky Cup in Edmonton, Alberta, the 2018 National Junior A Championship, the 2017 Western Canada Cup and the 2017 Cyclone Taylor Cup. He has participated in the 2017 National Hockey League (NHL)/Canadian Hockey League (CHL) camp and Hockey Canada’s 2016 Officials Program of Excellence (OPoE). Mackey has been a BC Hockey Summer Officiating School instructor, helping out at the 2012 and 2013 events. He also played previously in the PJHL.

Nolan currently officiates in the WHL, USports and BCHL. He is a level V (5) official and has been an official for the past 14 years. He has officiated at the 2018 WHL U.S. Prospects Camp along with the 2016 Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) and the 2015 Western Canadian Challenge. Nolan currently serves as the Port Moody Minor Hockey Association (MHA) Referee-in-Chief.
