Risk Management

Canada’s great national game – ice hockey – has been played for generations across our country in communities large and small and on ice surfaces from the frozen pond to the most sophisticated of buildings complete with artificial ice.

Throughout this passage of time, the game in its initial simplicity provided experiences for young and old which were difficult to duplicate in other endeavors of life.

The increasingly complex world of today has had some profound effects on how we view, experience and learn from the enjoyment in playing the game of ice hockey.

The effects are far reaching and they have a great ability to dramatically affect the quality of our experience in playing ice hockey.

As leaders in the amateur hockey field, we must be cognizant of the forces at play and appreciate how they affect and influence the young hockey player who is looking for a safe and enjoyable experience.
