Enclosed is the resolutions package for the 2016 BC Hockey Annual General Meeting (AGM). The package consists of three (3) parts:
-
new 2016 Resolutions for consideration at the AGM;
-
a package containing four (4) resolutions from the 2015 AGM, which resolutions were tabled at that meeting to the 2016 meeting; and
-
a Concordance which has been prepared to assist you in your review of proposed changes to the BC Hockey Regulations.
Resolutions 2016-01, 2016-02 and 2016-03 contain proposed new Bylaws One, Two and Four. These were prepared by the Governance Committee over the course of the past year and have been endorsed by the Board of Directors. You will see that these have been modified from the proposed new Bylaws that were tabled at the 2015 AGM as found in resolutions 2015-02, 2015-03 and 2015-05 respectively. We will be proposing at the AGM that the 2016 versions of these documents be considered first.
Resolutions 2016-04 through 2016-11 reflect a proposed restructuring of BC Hockey’s Regulations. Some reflect items that have been moved from the Bylaws (particularly the proposed new Regulation 1 which sets out procedural steps to deal with membership applications), while others reflect a reorganization of the document into what is hopefully a more logical structure and flow. Some provisions that were formerly in the Regulations are proposed to be moved into Policy. In order to assist you in reviewing these Resolutions, some information as to the source and destination of former Regulations is contained in the “Rationale” portion of the cover page for each resolution, there is a note at the end of most sections of the proposed new Regulations identifying where each item formerly appeared within the Regulations, and the enclose Concordance will allow you to identify where each provision from the previous Regulations appears in the proposed new structure.
The previous Bylaws and Regulations are available in the BC Hockey Handbook which is posted on the BC Hockey website at http://www.bchockey.net/Administration/Resources.aspx
