Please note that BC Hockey has received a number of requests for the sanctioning of Novice tournaments on a full-ice surface.
As you are aware, the BC Hockey Board of Directors has mandated that all games below the Atom division are to be played utilizing the cross ice format. As a result of this mandate, please note that all games involving Novice teams must take place on a cross or modified ice surface, and that this includes tournament games.
To assist with the coordination of cross ice tournaments, a ‘Tournament Hosting Guide’ is attached.
We also encourage tournament organizers to work with the BC Hockey IP/Cross Ice District Leads in order to address any questions relating to this topic.
