Player Development Committee and Delivery Group
NEW### The Player Development Committee in conjunction with Hockey Canada provides technical information, oversight, and monitors the delivery of Long Term Player Development (LTPD). The Player Development Committee is also responsible for the development of new hockey technical components as well as administrative and operational standards for player development.
NEW### The Player Development Delivery Group is responsible to deliver the program components to member associations at the expected level.

RATIONALE:
|
Through our ongoing efforts to implement the Initiation Program and Cross-Ice programming, and our long-term goal of working with our member associations to monitor and enhance developmental programs at the Novice and Atom levels, it has been brought to light that an adjustment is necessary to the BC Hockey structure. Specifically, we are in need of a Player Development program. The Committee would perform the following duties:
- Develop uniform operational standards for Player Development across minor hockey
- Recommend policy and regulations to the Board of Directors
- Builds player programs and resources
- Builds educational resources for parents
- Builds Association resources and advises Associations on implementation.
- Serves in an advisory role on member programming needs as well as the BC Program of Excellence
- Monitors the implementation of LTPD at the MHA and team levels and makes recommendations on changes required to meet LTPD standards
- Liaises with national LTPD organizations
- Presents LTPD materials when required
- Develop and manage the BC Hockey LTPD Messenger Program
- Act as subject matter LTPD specialists for BC Hockey committees
- Oversee the implementation of and updates to the Instructional stream material dealing with progressive player skill development.
- Implements skill development programming
- Assists in building High Performance - Performance Enhancement Teams
- Monitors LTPD research and programming to enhance overall portfolio
- Acts as a resource for player and team seasonal/annual plans
- Assist teams including BC Hockey Program of Excellence teams with nutrition, medical, mental, physical preparation plans
- Liaise with private entrepreneurial instructional personnel to ensure consistent messaging
Delivery group members would be personnel such as the BC Hockey Cross Ice Leads.
This resolution has been endorsed by both the Development and Minor Committees.
