This season we have encountered a higher than normal volume of ineligible bench staff during our registration review of teams. The greatest factor for this high volume is Criminal Record Check (CRC) data is not being entered into the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR).
As per Regulation 3.07, Minor Hockey Association (MHA) team officials are required to submit a CRC prior to any team participation in practices and games. This information is to be documented in the HCR under the CRC tab in the member profile view by MHA users with appropriate HCR access rights.
The CRC tab in the HCR has been utilized for entering all new receipts of CRCs by District Associations and Minor Hockey Association registrars since November 2016 (see Bulletin 2016-044 and 2017-024 for complete details). If you have received confirmation that a CRC is in progress for a team official and have a receipt, please add a CRC with the status “Pending (receipt received)”. If you receive a completed CRC please select the status “Completed”.
