- To introduce BC students to Canada’s national game
- To support the Physical Educations curriculums with a hockey component
- To have local hockey leaders with educational background mentor classroom teachers
- To help students to learn to play
- To demonstrate a partnership with the Ministry of Education, school districts, schools and communities
- To promote healthier lifestyles with increased physical activity
- To improve academic achievement through healthier bodies
- To reduce absences during school and throughout careers
- To positively contribute to lifelong physical activity
- To complement the hockey efforts of local communities
- To promote Hockey Canada’s Skills Academies
- To affect student’s attitudes toward lifetime activities
- To explore the untapped potential and opportunities for post-secondary students
- To lessen the dependency on health care
- To complement the efforts of minor hockey associations
- To experience life’s learning outcomes through a hockey experience
- To build values and virtues in students
- To provide a pathway for other hockey programs for senior students
