BC Hockey announced March 13, 2015 that Caleb Fantillo of the Vancouver North East Chiefs has been named the Major Midget League (MML) Player of the Month for February. Fantillo tallied 10 goals and three (3) assists during the month.
Fantillo, a 5’9” forward from Coquitlam, scored 61 points over 38 regular season games (35 goals, 26 assists) and helped lead his team to a 25-10-5 record.
Said Chiefs head coach Jamie Jackson, “Caleb pushed hard in the last month of the season, earning himself the most goals in the league and helping the team finish 7-0.”
The Chiefs earned a #3 seed for the first round of the MML Playoffs, where they defeated the #6 Valley West Hawks (18-14-8) in two (2) games. They face the Greater Vancouver Canadians (21-16-3) in the MML semifinals this weekend.
Fantillo was chosen from a high calibre list of nominees for this prestigious award. The runners up in no particular order are as follows:

The BC Hockey Major Midget League was established in 2004 to provide elite level 15, 16 and 17 year olds an opportunity to play within their own age group. Playing at this high level and be developed for the next level of hockey. These teams have an opportunity each year to compete for the National Midget Championship.
