BC Hockey announced that Brooklyn Paisley of the Vancouver Island Seals has been named the Female Midget AAA League (FMAAA) Player of the Month for November 2017. The 5’9” forward from Shawnigan Lake, BC tallied 11 points (7 goals, 4 assists) in nine (9) games in November, including a four (4) point game on November 17 against the Northern Capitals.
Paisley, 17, serves as the captain of the Seals and has helped the team to a record of 9-6 on the season. Brooklyn has led the Seals to a six (6) game winning streak for the first time in franchise history. On the season, she has 18 points with 13 goals and five (5) assists to lead the Seals in scoring and good for fifth overall in the FMAAA.
The FMAAA was initiated in the 2007-2008 season in response to the membership’s desire to provide an opportunity for elite female hockey players to come together on zone teams to challenge other elite female Midget teams. The league has had over 100 players move on to post-secondary hockey opportunities.
