The Vancouver North West Giants have announced their 2018-2019 season staff. Jody Landon will remain as the club’s general manager overseeing both the Major Midget League (MML) team and the Minor Midget League team. Chris Shaw (Port Moody) will become the MML team’s head coach replacing Aaron Wilbur (Vancouver) and Guido Lamberti-Charles (Port Coquitlam) will be the inaugural head coach of the Minor Midget team.
Shaw joins the MML Giants after spending two (2) seasons as an associate coach with the Langley Rivermen of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). Shaw has also spent time as a general manager and head coach in the Western States Hockey League (WSHL) with the Ontario (California) Avalanche, the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) with the Nelson Leafs and Penticton Lakers dating back to 2009. Prior to coaching, Shaw played professional hockey from 2002-2007 in the Central Hockey League (CHL),the United Hockey League (UHL), the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) and the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). Shaw also played in the BCHL with the Victoria Salsa and Burnaby Bulldogs from 1998-2002.
Lamberti-Charles joins the Giants Minor Midget team with over 18 years of coaching experience at the minor, junior, collegiate and professional levels. Last season he was an associate coach with the MML’s top regular season team, the Valley West Hawks. Lamberti-Charles has also coached with the Giants in 2016-2017 and has coached with several Minor Hockey Associations (MHAs): Burnaby MHA, Burnaby Winter Club, Vancouver Thunderbirds and with Trier in Germany mml where he started his coaching career following 14 seasons playing professionally there.
The Giants are holding their spring identification camp May 4-6, 2018 at Planet Ice in Coquitlam.

The BC Hockey Minor Midget League will begin play in 2018-2019 and gives an opportunity for 15 year-old players to develop with other athletes of the same age and is affiliated with the MML.
The MML was established in 2004 to provide elite level 15, 16 and 17 year-old players an opportunity to play within their own age group at a high level and be developed for the next level of hockey. These teams have an opportunity each year to compete for the TELUS Cup, Canada’s National Midget Championship.
