Young has spent two seasons with the Thunderbirds as the assistant coach, and this will be his first season as head coach. He has previous head coach experience within the BC Hockey High Performance program for both Male U16 and U17. As head coach this year he will be looking to improve upon the Thunderbirds fifth place season finish from last year.
Tom Spencer – Valley West Hawks
This will be Spencer’s first season as head coach of the Valley West Hawks. He has gained previous MML experience over the last two seasons as the assistant coach of the Fraser Valley Bruins. Spencer will be looking to lead the Hawks past their third place season finish from the 2010-2011 season.
The BC Hockey Major Midget League was established in 2004 to provide elite level 15, 16 and 17 year olds an opportunity to play within their own age group at a high level and be developed for the next level of hockey. These teams have an opportunity each year to compete for the National Midget Championship.
