BC Hockey is pleased to announce that Ryan Aynsley of the Okanagan Rockets has been selected as the BC Hockey Major Midget League (MML) Player of the Month for December. Aynsley is the Rockets captain not only on-ice but dedicates his off-ice responsibilities by being actively involved in youth skating programs at his local arena. In the month of December this left winger from Kelowna, BC netted eight goals and assisted on eight for a total of 16 points in only six games. Aynsley is currently sixth overall in MML scoring, not to mention being selected to the 2007-2008 MML All-Star Game where he was named first star.
“[Ryan] has led our team in scoring for the month and has been the backbone to our success this season. [He] is a great team player and is well liked by all his teammates,” boasted the Rockets head coach Dave Dupas.
As player of the month, Aynsley will receive a gift from Mission-Itech.
The BC Hockey Major Midget League was established in 2004 to provide elite level 15, 16 and 17 year olds an opportunity to play within their own age group at a high level and be developed for the next level of hockey. These teams have an opportunity each year to compete for the National Midget Championship.
