About U14 Zone Camps:
U14 Zone Camps are open to athletes aged 11 to 13 based on the calendar year (born in 2003 and 2004). The U14 camps will run alongside the U16 camps in January 2016 in all zones. Athletes must be registered members of BC Hockey in order to attend the camps.
About U16 Zone Camps:
U16 Zone Camps are open to athletes born in 2001 and 2002. The U16 camps will run alongside the U14 camps in January 2016 in all zones. Athletes must be registered members of BC Hockey in order to attend the camps.
Based on the performance at the zone camps, jamboree-style teams will be formed for the Female U16 Provincial Identification Camp (formerly the Female U16 BC Cup) in April 2016. 40 players (4 goalies, 12 defenceman, and 24 forwards) will be selected from the Lower Mainland camp, while 20 players (2 goalies, 6 defenceman, 12 forwards) will be chosen from each of the other U16 zones.
BC Hockey’s Female High Performance Program was established to identify and train athletes and team personnel for possible participation at Provincial, National and International events. The U16 program is particularly important, as it is the first stage in the Female High Performance Program where player evaluation and team selection occurs.
