BC Hockey, along with the North West District, have announced that their zone programming for the 2017-2018 season will include a Bantam team based out of Vanderhoof.
The North West zone identification camp will take place August 11-13, 2017 in Smithers. The registration link and fee will be available in June from BC Hockey and the will be called the North West Lumberjacks.
Along with the North West, the Okanagan and Yukon districts will participate in the pilot program aimed at giving opportunities for players to join regional teams. This past season, the Regional Zone Pilot Program was implemented in the Okanagan and has been very successful, allowing players in the region the opportunity to participate in Tier One (1) and Tier Two (2) hockey.
The program was developed to allow players to play at the highest level and allows districts to provide regional teams and pull from a greater draw zone.
