Hockey Canada announced the 66 players that will represent Canada at the 2017 World U17 Hockey Challenge in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, BC from November 5-11, 2017. Among those selected are eight (8) BC Hockey players.

All Team Canada players can be found here. The players were selected following a development camp in July in Calgary, Alberta. The 66 players will be divided into three (3) teams representing Team Canada Black, Team Canada Red, and Team Canada White.
The World U17 Hockey Challenge features the three (3) Canadian teams, along with teams from Russia, the United States, Finland, the Czech Republic and Sweden. Team Canada Black, Team Canada White, the Czech Republic and the United States will play in Group A, while Team Canada Red, Finland, Russia and Sweden will comprise Group B.

Tournament action gets underway on Sunday, November 5, 2017 when Team Canada Red takes on Finland, along with Team Canada Black facing Team Canada White. The gold medal game will be played on Saturday, November 11, 2017. All preliminary-round games, the quarter-finals and placement games will be available via webcast at HockeyCanada.ca/WU17. Hockey Canada’s broadcast partners, TSN and RDS, will televise the gold-medal game on Saturday, November 11, 2017. The World U17 Hockey Challenge is presented by Hockey Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) and the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF). Since the first World U17 Hockey Challenge (then known as the Quebec Esso Cup) in 1986, more than 1,600 National Hockey League (NHL) draft picks have played in the tournament, including 13 of the last 16 first-overall selections, including Burnaby Winter Club product Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (Burnaby, BC) in 2011.
