BC Hockey and the Vancouver Canucks hosted a successful Minor Hockey Weekend with 28 teams from around BC participating at the event.
The teams were selected by random draw to play at Rogers Arena, the home of the Vancouver Canucks, on November 25 and 26, 2017. The teams enjoyed fun games which featured a game-experience including PA announcements, in-game interviews and music.
The teams were able to tour the Canucks dressing room and get snacks provided by the Canucks.
BC Hockey works in partnership with the Vancouver Canucks through the Canucks Centre for BC Hockey to bring opportunities to minor hockey in British Columbia and the Yukon. The centre aims to provide programs and initiatives supporting growth and development of coaches, officials, players and fans.
The partnership is a cooperative effort in which each organization assists the other in the promotion, organization, development, administration, recognition and execution of programs at all levels of amateur hockey.
Some of the other programs organized from the Canucks Centre for BC Hockey include: Coaching Day in BC, Canucks SuperSkills, Every Kids Dream, Female Jamborees, Pavel Bure Award, Penalty Free Challenge and Silver Skate Awards. Click here for more details on the programs.
