Four (4) BC Hockey Pee Wee teams have won a trip to Ottawa and will participate in Ottawa International Hockey Festival (OIHF) from December 28-31, 2017. From BC, the Kelowna Pee Wee Devils and the Saanich Pee Wee C3 Braves will attend, while the Whitehorse Pee Wee PNW Mustangs along with the Yukon North Stars will represent the Yukon.
The event is in celebration of Canada 150 and is part of the OIHF in partnership with Canada 150, Hockey Canada and the Ottawa Senators. Sixteen (16) integrated and 16 girls Pee Wee House League teams will represent their regions in the cross Canada Pee Wee house division.
More than 300 entries, representing more than 6,000 minor hockey players and team officials, were submitted.
The teams will receive a bursary to offset the cost of travel to Ottawa for each player and coach, a set of commemorative Canada 150/OIHF jerseys for their team in which to compete (featuring their provincial flag on the jersey), accommodations, complimentary entry into the tournament and local bus service in Ottawa.
