Hockey Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) have announced the names of the 25 players nominated to represent Team Canada in men’s hockey at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games, February 9-25, 2018 in PyeongChang, South Korea. The roster includes three (3) BC Hockey players.

Brulé, 31, was born in Edmonton but calls North Vancouver home. He was a first-round National Hockey League (NHL) pick by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2005. Brulé played minor hockey with the North Shore Winter Club (NSWC) before playing one (1) season with the Quesnel Millionaires of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). He then spent three (3) seasons with the Western Hockey League’s (WHL) Vancouver Giants after being selected first overall in the WHL Bantam Draft. He is currently playing in the KHL with the Kunlun Red Star.
Ebbett, 35, from Vernon is in his twelfth professional hockey season, spending the past three (3) seasons in the NLA in Switzerland following seven (7) seasons split between the American Hockey League (AHL) and the NHL, including time with the Vancouver Canucks. Ebbett played for Greater Vernon Minor Hockey Association (MHA) growing up and spent one (1) season with the Sicamous Eagles of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) and one (1) season with the BCHL’s Salmon Arm Silverbacks before playing at the University of Michigan.
Elliott, 26, from North Vancouver, is playing for HV71 in Sweden top league. He was a second-round pick of the Colorado Avalanche, spending five (5) seasons with the organization before playing in Europe. Elliott played minor hockey at the North Shore Winter Club and spent a season with the BC Major Midget League’s (MML) Vancouver North West Giants where he played at the 2007 TELUS Cup, Canada’s National Midget Championship. Elliott has represented Canada at the 2009 World Under-18 Championship.
Team Canada opens its Olympic schedule on Thursday, February 15 at the Kwandong Hockey Centre in Gangneung, when it meets Switzerland in Group A. The gold-medal game is set to take place on February 25.
