BC Hockey and the South Okanagan Minor Hockey Association (MHA) are pleased to host a female jamboree in Osoyoos, BC taking place at the Sun Bowl from April 20 – 22, 2018.
Female players between the ages of 5-12 are encouraged to attend this event which emphasizes fun, sportsmanship and the celebration of female hockey. The weekend will include an opening ceremony, team building events, a skills session, and approximately three (3) games per player. Players register individually and will be placed on teams based on age, experience, and skill level.
Registration for players is $135, and each participant will receive a jersey and a gift from BC Hockey.
Registration for coaches is free. It is required that coaches have Coach 1 – Intro to Coach or Coach 2 – Coach Level, Respect in Sport (RIS), and Concussion Awareness Training Tool (CATT) certifications, as well as a valid criminal record check.
The registration deadline for both players and coaches is April 13, 2018. Confirmation packages including team assignments and schedules will be distributed after the registration deadline.
Please note that all travel and accommodation will be the responsibility of the participant. All goalies and players must bring their own equipment and socks - game jerseys will be supplied.
The female jamborees are a grassroots development program geared towards females already playing hockey, as well as those just starting out. The event fosters a non-competitive atmosphere that allows the participants to have fun and play with other girls from around BC and the Yukon. BC Hockey jamborees stress sportsmanship, fair play, and respect for fellow players, coaches and officials.
