The Fraser Valley Jets captured their first-ever BC Hockey Championship at the Richmond Ice Centre, defeating the Meadow Ridge Moose 7-2 in the South Coast Women’s Hockey League (SCWHL) championship game of a six (6) team playoff tournament.
The Jets won all four (4) games in the playoff tournament, outscoring the opposition 22-5.
In Sunday’s final, they led 2-1 and 4-1 at the period breaks. Alannah Kedra with two (2) goals, and Natasha Steblin, Sylvia Traversa, Kelsea Trottier, Marylyne Cloutier and Rachel McLaughlin with one (1) each accounted for the Fraser Valley scoring.
Kate Wheeler and Madeline Cockrill replied for the Moose.
In the bronze medal game, Natalie May scored the only goal and netminder Jenn Price made 48 saves to lead the South Fraser TNT to a 1-0 win over the defending BC Hockey champion Kamloops Vibe.

The Fraser Valley Jets were the top team in the regular season with a 20-2-4 record. The Kamloops Vibe are the defending Senior Female A champions and are the eight (8) time league champions.
