Sunday, December 2, 2018

Bruce Hamilton is the owner, president and general manager of the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League (WHL).  Hamilton moved the franchise from Tacoma Washington to Kelowna in 1995.

Kelowna has been one of the more consistent teams in he WHL, and so have their fans, with their attendance averages almost identical from 2003 to 2012.  The Rockets have won four (4) WWHL titles since moving to Kelowna, including a Memorial Cup in 2004.

Bruce is a member of BC Hockey’s Nominating Committee, and has worked as a scout in the National Hockey League (NHL) with a few different clubs.  Hamilton was drafted as a player in 1977 in the fifth round by the St. Louis Blues, played a few seasons of pro hockey in a couple of different leagues before retiring in 1981.

Bruce Hamilton was inducted into the BC Hockey Hall of Fame in 2010.

BC Hockey is a non-profit organization and member of Hockey Canada in charge of governing amateur hockey at all levels in British Columbia and the Yukon Territory.

Approximately 150 minor hockey associations, 55,000 players, 4,500 referees, 20,000 official volunteers and countless others make our great game possible here in Pacific Canada.
