Ron Toigo has been an owner of a Western Hockey League (WHL) team since 1991 when he owned the Tri-City Americans. He sold the team in 2000, but became majority owner and president of the Vancouver Giants the same year, which he has maintained to this day.
During his time with the team, the Giants have won the Ed Chynoweth Cup as WHL Champions, and also hosted the 2007 Memorial Cup, with the Giants winning the tournament.
Ron played a major role in the very successful 2006 World Junior Championship and is the co-chair for the 2019 World Junior Hockey Championship being held in Victoria and Vancouver.
Ron Toigo was inducted into the BC Hockey Hall of Fame in 2017.
