The Penticton Vees had a very successful season in 2011-2012. The Vees finished the regular season more than 20 points ahead of the second place team, winning 54 games, losing only four (4) games in regulation, and dropping another two (2) in overtime, good for 110 points. Powell River was the next best team, collecting 40 wins, and 84 points.
In three (3) playoff series on route to the Fred Page Cup, the Vees only dropped three (3) games, sweeping the final series to earn their way into regional competition. The Vees played the Brooks Bandits for the Doyle Cup, and a chance to represent the Pacific in the national tournament. Penticton made short work of Brooks, winning the seven (7) game series in five (5) and outscoring the Bandits 23-9.
The Vees got off to a rocky start on the national stage, but found their way into the finals. The Vees faced the Woodstock Slammers for the championship, and beat the Slammers 4-3 to claim the RBC Cup for Penticton. Richmond BC native, and current Vancouver Canuck Troy Stecher, won top defenseman at the tournament.
