BC Hockey 100 Great Moments: Vancouver Millionaires
Saturday, January 12, 2019

The Vancouver Millionaires played in the Pacific Coast Hockey Association (PCHA) from 1911-1922.

The Millionaires twice played against the winner of the National Hockey Association for the Stanley Cup, winning it in their second appearance in 1915.  The Millionaires swept the five (5) game series against the Ottawa Senators, led by Fred "Cyclone" Taylor who scored six (6) goals in the series.  Vancouver outscored Ottawa 26 to eight (8) over the course of the three (3) games played between the two (2) teams.

The 1915 Stanley Cup remains the only Stanley Cup won by a team from Vancouver and was also the farthest west the Stanley Cup had been won up to that point.

The Vancouver Millionaires were inducted into the BC Hockey Hall of Fame in 1998, and have been featured on the Hockey Hall of Fame’s website under “Legends of Hockey”.

BC Hockey is a non-profit organization and member of Hockey Canada in charge of governing amateur hockey at all levels in British Columbia and the Yukon Territory.

Approximately 150 minor hockey associations, 55,000 players, 4,500 referees, 20,000 official volunteers and countless others make our great game possible here in Pacific Canada.
