The Atom Pathway workshop is an overview of the Atom Pathway pilot program, starting from the Atom Transitional Plan for players graduating from Novice into Atom hockey, and working through explanation and recommended parameters of the competitive and recreational streams of the pathway. This presentation will focus on the philosophy behind the structure of this pathway, and a general framework and strategies for delivery of the program.

The Female Programming workshop will review BC Hockey’s new Female Hockey Model and its implementation for the 2019-2020 season. This interactive workshop will include information on the new Central Registry as well as recruitment goals for this coming season.

The Harassment and Abuse Prevention workshop will be hosted by Marie-Claude Asselin from the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada. The workshop will assist member Associations with policy implementation and protocols for handling harassment and abuse claims. The workshop will touch on code of conduct, coach/executive education and parent education.

The Officiating Retention and Development workshop will be led be BC Hockey Referee in Chief, Sean Raphael, and Minor Officiating Development Facilitator, Larry Krause, and will outline development resources, structures and strategies for officials at Hockey Canada Officiating Program (HCOP) levels 1-6. New strategies for recruiting officials will be explored and a review of the mentorship program including techniques and effective learning tools will be discussed. Finally, the ever-evolving Long Term Officiating Development Model will be explored and highlight opportunities for officials within the BC Hockey Officiating Program of Excellence (OPoE).

The Hockey Canada App workshop is an introduction to Hockey Canada Drill Hub online platform. Delegates will learn how to download the app, how to register themselves and their team, how to find practice plans, drills, and everything else appropriate to the level being coached.
