BC HOCKEY PARTNERS WITH HUDL FOR PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS
Tuesday, September 3, 2019

BC Hockey is excited to announce that its Program of Excellence (POE) will use Hudl’s video technology to capture, analyze and review video and stats for improved performance. The POE includes all teams in the Female Midget AAA League (FMAAA), Major Midget League (MML), Minor Midget League (MML15), Major Bantam League (MBL) and the Zone Program, along with Team BC.

The video software will provide coaches and team personnel access to video and stats for all league games, prepared and broken down through Hudl Assist. The game breakdowns provided by Hudl Assist include: all major stat categories like goals, assists, shot attempts, shot locations and powerplay and penalty kill opportunities. Every piece of data is tied directly to video for quick review by all team members through playlists, visual charts and reports. Athletes will have their own account to access the full library of video through state-of-the-art technology allowing for review on any device. BC Hockey will be able to create highlight packages and recaps from all games in BC Hockey leagues.

“Partnering with Hudl is key in our efforts to meet the needs of our players and coaches for enhanced teaching and video analysis”, said BC Hockey Chief Executive Officer Barry Petrachenko. “With the large number of teams in BC Hockey’s POE, we are able to secure this terrific product while keeping costs down for our participants.”

“We're thrilled to provide BC Hockey teams and their wider community the technology they need to succeed,” said Brett Shamblin, director at Hudl. “As the game of hockey continues to evolve with technology, we’re proud that our video analysis solutions are contributing to an elite experience for everyone associated with BC Hockey, and it's clear that its leaders are committed to setting their coaches and athletes up for success.

BC Hockey continues to partner with PlayFullScreen.com for the livestream webcasts of select BC Hockey POE league games.

The FMAAA program was initiated in the 2007-2008 season in response to the membership’s desire to provide an opportunity for elite female hockey players to come together on zone teams to challenge other elite female midget teams. The league has had nearly 100 players move on to post-secondary hockey opportunities.

The MML15 is in its second season which includes nine teams across BC consisting of players that are 15 years old.

The MML was established in 2004 to provide elite level 15, 16 and 17-year-old players an opportunity to play within their own age group at a high level and be developed for the next level of hockey.

The MBL Program has been created for the 2019-2020 season in the Lower Mainland, North Central, Okanagan and Vancouver Island. The program will be made up of eight teams based on the MML draw zones.

The BC Hockey Zone Program, which is currently in its third season, was developed to provide minor hockey players with access to the highest possible level of play within their age group.
