BC Hockey 2019 Jamboree Host Application

BC Hockey is accepting applications to host Female Jamborees during the 2018-2019 season. Minor Hockey Associations (MHAs) can apply to host the Jamborees, which will feature community coaches working alongside Branch personnel to deliver a fun and exciting weekend for females age 5 - 12.

The grassroots program is geared towards females already playing the game, as well as those just starting out. Jamborees create a non-competitive atmosphere which allows the participants to have fun and play with other girls from around the province. Players are placed into teams based on age and ability and participate in skill sessions and games, as well as off-ice activities.

In order to host a Jamboree, the host MHA must:

  • Secure the required ice time and off-ice facilities
  • Provide local volunteer coaches to assist with the on and off-ice program delivery
  • Commit to a minimum of 50 players

BC Hockey will cover all costs associated with the Jamboree (including on-and-off-ice facility fees, jerseys, and gifting) and be responsible for player registration, scheduling, and other administrative duties. Players pay $125 to participate in a Jamboree.

Application deadline is November 1, 2018.
