2024-25 HOCKEY CANADA/NCCP COACHING CLINICS OPEN FOR REGISTRATION

Saanichton, B.C. - BC Hockey is excited to share that Hockey Canada/NCCP coaching clinics across all levels are now open for registration. We appreciate you sharing this info with coaches within your MHA who need to take a clinic to ensure they are aware of the options available to them and can compete the training they need before the annual deadlines.

Please note that additional clinic options are regularly added to this list throughout clinic season (September to December), to ensure that certification requirements are met prior to the December deadlines. We recommend you bookmark THIS PAGE so you can stay up-to-date on the most current listings. Based on the level they are coaching, coaches have up until the dates below to be caught up with their certifications.

Hockey Canada Coach 1/Hockey Canada Coach 2 (Recreational): December 15, 2024

Development 1 (Competitive): December 1, 2024

Here are the clinics that are currently open for registration: 

On-Demand clinics:

The 2024-25 season is the first season that coaching clinics are available on Hockey Canada's new Learning Lab platform. Here is what you can access through the new format.

Hockey Canada Coach 1:

  • For U7 and U9 coaches 
  • Within this clinic, coaches are to complete the specific age group modules (U7, U9) of the category of play they are coaching
  • Replaces Coach 1 - Intro to Coach

Hockey Canada Coach 2:

  • For U11 and U13-U21 recreational level coaches 
  • Within this clinic, coaches are to complete the specific age group modules (U11, U13) of the category of play they are coaching
  • Replaces Coach 2 - Coach Level

Hockey Canada Skills - Checking:

  • For U11, U13 and U15 head coaches 
  • Replaces HU - Online Checking

As a part of the introduction of the Learning Lab platform, coach delegates no longer have to complete a prerequisite for Coach 1 or Coach 2. Additionally, there is no longer a post-clinic task to complete for delegates of Coach 2.

Instructional Stream Clinic Request

BC Hockey members can request specialty clinics in the following areas to be delivered to coaches from your association:

  • Checking
  • Developing Defenders
  • Shooting & Scoring
  • Small Area Games
  • Goaltending
  • Puck Skills
  • Skating

To request a specialty clinic, please send a request to your region's District Coach Coordinator.

Development 1 is again split into two parts, with Part 1 delivered online via Zoom and Part 2 delivered in-person. Delegates must attend Part 1 before attending Part 2.

We Are Coaches:

The "We Are Coaches" clinics are female-only clinics, for female coaches, facilitated by female coaches. Delegates who attend these specific clinics will be reimbursed for their clinic registration fee upon confirmation of clinic completion. BC Hockey aims to deliver We Are Coaches clinics at the Development 1 level for the 2024-25 season. Additionally, female coaches who complete our We Are Coaches Coach 1 and Coach 2 Learning Lab clinics (up to 100 per clinic) will be reimbursed their clinic fee.

We suggest the current or prospective coaches first check our Team Requirements page before registering for a clinic to verify the appropriate level of coach training they need for the level of play they wish to coach.
