BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - FEBRUARY 4-9

For Immediate Release

February 4, 2026

Saanichton, B.C. - The BCEHL’s annual Super Showcase goes this weekend at Burnaby’s Scotia Barn with 45 games in just four days across the four leagues. With the playoffs beginning in a few weeks, teams are jostling for positioning as the intensity ramps up for the most important time of the year. Let’s see what highlights are in store for the weekend ahead.

Female U18 AAA

The top three teams in the Female U18 league will meet four times over the weekend! The top two teams meet on Saturday morning when the league-leading Greater Vancouver Comets (19-4-0-1=39 points) take on the second-place Thompson-Okanagan Lakers (17-8-1-0=35 points). This is the final meeting of the season between the two clubs. Through their first seven meetings the Lakers hold the advantage with a 4-2-1-0 record.

The Fraser Valley Rush (17-9-0-0=34 points) are only one point back of the Lakers and trail the Comets by five points. Fraser Valley and Thompson-Okanagan will do battle on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. The Rush will then clash with the Comets on Sunday evening. There are 10 games total in the Female U18 league this weekend.

U18 AAA

The league-leading Okanagan Rockets (21-6-1-0=43 points) will meet the third-place Cariboo Cougars (16-9-2-1=35 points) on Monday morning. Cariboo comes in with a 7-1-0-0 record in their last eight games, which included a weekend sweep of Okanagan in December. The Rockets have a 5-3-0-0 record over their last eight games with three of Okanagan’s wins coming via the shootout.

Also on Monday, the second-place Vancouver North East Chiefs (20-4-0-2=42 points) will tangle with the fourth-place Thompson Blazers (14-13-0-1=29 points). The two teams split their two earlier contests in October. There are eight games in the U18 league during the Super Showcase.

U17 AAA

The U17 league is a literal log jam at the top of the standings with the top five teams separated by a mere four points. The Vancouver North West Hawks (20-7-3-0) are tied for the top spot with 43 points and will meet up with the fifth-place Thompson Blazers (17-10-4-1=39 points) on Monday with a noon puck drop. The Hawks are 9-1-0-0 in their last 10 games with their lone loss coming at the hands of the Blazers when the two teams met at the end of January. In that two-game set, Thompson went 1-0-1-0 against the Hawks taking three of a possible four points. There are 11 games in the U17 league during the Super Showcase.

The U17 league has the only game outside of the showcase this week. Tonight, the seventh-place Greater Vancouver Canadians (11-16-4-0=26 points) travel to Delta to take on the sixth-place Valley West Giants (13-13-1-2=29 points). The Giants currently hold a three point lead over the Canadians. Greater Vancouver leads the season series with a 2-0-1-0 record.

U15 AAA

The Okanagan Rockets (22-2-0-0=44 points) and Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (22-2-0-0=44 points) are tied atop the U15 standings. Both squads have four games this weekend before they meet for a two-game set next weekend in Kelowna. On paper, the Rockets' toughest test this weekend will come on Friday afternoon when they take on the third-place Thompson Blazers (15-8-1-0=31 points). The teams have met twice this year already with Okanagan taking both games. The Rockets last loss came on January 11th. The T-Birds will also take on Thompson with puck drop set for 6:00 p.m. on Saturday night. Fraser Valley will tussle with the fourth-place Vancouver North East Chiefs (12-8-3-0=27 points) on Sunday. Fraser Valley has gone 3-0-0-0 versus both the Blazers and Chiefs this season. The T-Birds last lost a game on November 29, 2025. There are 16 games at the Super Showcase for the U15 league this weekend.
