BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - FEBRUARY 7TH-10TH

Saanichton, B.C. - This week in the BCEHL, it's an epic gathering of all four leagues as they head to Burnaby for a whopping combined 44 games in four days for the first ever Super Showcase!
Female U18 AAA
The Female U18 league kicks off the Super Showcase on Friday with a showdown between the top two teams. The second-place Northern Capitals (12-11-0-1) will look to claim their first win of the season against the league-leading Greater Vancouver Comets (23-2-1-0) who carry a four game winning streak into the Showcase. The third-place Fraser Valley Rush (9-11-1-3) will also square off against the second-place Thompson-Okanagan Lakers (10-11-2-3) on Friday and Saturday. So far this season, the Rush have won three times in six meetings against the Lakers.

At the Super Showcase, the first-place Cariboo Cougars (20-6-3-1), will look to extend their three-point lead over the second-place Okanagan Rockets (19-10-2-1) when they go head-to-head on Monday. The second-place Valley West Giants (20-9-0-1), will look to hold their spot near the top of the standings when they take on the seventh-place Greater Vancouver Canadians (10-15-4-2) and eighth-place Thompson Blazers (4-26-0-0).

U17 AAA
In a duel between two of the U17 league's best, the first-place Okanagan Rockets (28-4-0-0), who have won 10 of their last 11 games, square off against the second-place Vancouver North West Hawks (20-9-2-1). The Hawks will then take on the third-place Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (20-9-1-1) on Saturday, who trail them by only one point in the standings. Fraser Valley has won three of their four meetings with the Hawks, with the most recent ending in a 3-3 tie.

This weekend, the U15 league is highlighted by a matchup between its top squads. After winning 16 of their last 17 games, the first-place Okanagan Rockets (21-3-0-0) will hit the ice against the second-place Thompson Blazers (14-7-2-1). The Blazers will look to continue their success against the Rockets, having won two of their three meetings this season. The Blazers will then go up against the fourth-place Vancouver North West Hawks (12-11-1-0), who have each split a win in their two-game series this season.
