PROGRAM OF EXCELLENCE COACHING AND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE FOR 2025 SEASON

Saanichton, B.C. – BC Hockey’s Program of Excellence (POE) is now accepting applications for coaches and volunteers within the Female U18 Team BC and Male U16 Team BC teams, along with coaches for POE Camps ahead of the 2025 season.

This year’s POE schedule will include participation in the 2025 National Women's Under-18 Championship for the Female U18 Team BC and participation in the 2025 WHL Cup for the Male U16 Team BC, with possible extension for the following season's Canada Winter Games in Quebec City in 2027.

Each team will appoint a head coach, two assistant coaches, an athletic therapist, video coach, equipment manager and strength and conditioning coach. BC Hockey is also seeking coaches for the Female and Male POE Regional Camps, Male U15 Provincial Tournament and Male U16 BC Cup.

It will be a requirement for the head coaches and assistant coaches of Team BC to be High Performance 1 certified, while all other coaches must be a minimum of Development 1 certified.

The successful Team BC candidates will be required to be in attendance for the following events:

Female U18 Team BC:

  • Regional Camps (April 2025, must be available for a minimum of one Regional Camp)
  • Provincial Camp (July 2025)
  • Prep Camp (September 2025)
  • National Women's Under-18 Championship (November 2025)
  • Possible extension to 2027 Canada Winter Games

*Exact dates and locations will be determined at a later date. 

Male U16 Team BC:

  • Regional Camps (March 2025, must be available for a minimum of one Regional Camp)
  • BC Cup (April 2025)
  • Provincial Camp (July 2025)
  • WHL Cup (October 2025)
  • Possible extension to 2027 Canada Winter Games

The deadline for Team BC staff applications is December 15, 2024. Applications for all other camp positions will remain open until January 10, 2025. Only candidates that are selected for interviews will be contacted.
