TERRACE RIVER KINGS TO HOST 2027 COY CUP

Saanichton, B.C. - BC Hockey is excited to announce that the Terrace River Kings will host the 2027 Coy Cup, BC Hockey's Senior Men's AA Championship. 

The 2027 Coy Cup will take place in late March at the Terrace Sportsplex in Terrace. The River Kings will welcome the top Senior Men's AA teams from across British Columbia to compete in one of the province’s most storied hockey championships.

"The Terrace River Kings are honoured and excited to be hosting the 2027 Coy Cup Championship. We look forward to sharing our love of the northwest and hockey to all the teams competing!" Terrace River Kings General Manager Tammy Braid said. 

The Dawson Creek Canucks are the reigning Coy Cup champions, having captured the 2026 title with a 4–1 victory over the Quesnel Kangaroos in the championship final at Dawson Creek Memorial Arena.

Terrace has enjoyed significant success at the provincial level in recent years. The River Kings won back-to-back Coy Cup championships in 2024 and 2025. They captured their first provincial title with a 5–4 triple-overtime victory over the host Powell River Regals in 2024 before successfully defending the championship with a 5–4 win over the Rossland Warriors in Prince Rupert in 2025.

The Coy Cup was donated to BC Hockey by Colonel Coy of the 50th "Gordon Highlanders" Regiment of Victoria, B.C. It is emblematic of the Senior AA Amateur Hockey Championship of BC Hockey. The first Coy Cup was awarded in the 1922–23 season.
